HISTORY

Chihowa is located fourteen (14) miles northwest of Lawrence, Kansas and is owned and operated by the Midlands Mission Center of the Community of Christ. It is used frequently each year by the Midlands Mission Center and its congregations for youth and family camps, retreats, seminars and conferences. It is also available to other groups and organizations for similar activities.

Chihowa Retreat Center is situated on 35 acres that was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Waldon Norris in 1960. This includes a 4½ acre lake and 15 acres of wooded area.
